Commodore C. Uday Bhaskarf
 Commodore C. Uday Bhaskar is currently the Director of the National Maritime Foundation in New Delhi. He retired from the Indian Navy in early 2007 after 37 years service. He is concurrently Contributing Editor of the South Asia Monitor and a Reuters columnist.
Bhaskar was formerly associated with the Institute for Defense Studies and Analyses (IDSA) where he served as the Deputy Director from 1996 to 2004 and later headed the Institute until late 2005. Subsequently he was appointed Member-Secretary of the Government of India Task Force on ‘Global Strategic Developments'—a report submitted to the Prime Minister of India.
Bhaskar has edited books on nuclear and international security related issues and has contributed over 60 research articles to journals in India and abroad. His articles have appeared in the US Naval Institute Proceedings, Studies in Conflict and Terrorism, the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists, and in books published by the US Naval War College and the Royal Navy Defense Studies. Bhaskar has been invited to speak at major U.S. universities and military colleges on India's nuclear posture and security policies.
Bhaskar is a Life member of the United Service Institution, on the Governing Council of the Indian Council on World Affairs and the Research and Information System for Developing Countries, and on the Advisory Panel of the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi. He is a member of Pugwash and was on the Executive Council of the Indian Pugwash for four years.
