Partnerships

Daisy Alliance is a partner of Back from the Brink, a US-based grassroots coalition of individuals, organizations and elected officials working together toward a world free of nuclear weapons and advocating for common sense nuclear weapons policies to secure a safer, more just future.  We endorse their calls for the US to actively pursue a verifiable agreement among nuclear-armed states to eliminate their nuclear arsenals, renounce the option of using nuclear weapons first, ending the sole, unchecked authority of any US president to launch a nuclear attack, taking US nuclear weapons off hair-trigger alert, and cancelling plans to replace the entire US nuclear arsenal with enhanced weapons.

Union of Concerned Scientists

In 2022, Daisy Alliance partnered with the Union of Concerned Scientists to create two nuclear weapons simulations for high school and college students to provide an active learning experience on nuclear weapons policies.  Through these simulations, students will gain experience in applying international relations concepts to practical situations, participating in intra- and inter-group negotiations, strengthen their understanding of key nuclear weapons issues and the role nuclear weapons play in global security and power structures, and strengthen their understanding of different perspectives and frameworks in international security and nuclear postures.

Daisy Alliance has partnered with WCAPS to promote our nuclear weapons simulations in HBCU's.  Through this partnership, we hope to increase access to resources that have traditionally been denied to communities of color and increase the diversity of voices in determining future US nuclear policies.  In December 2021, Shalonda Spencer of WCAPS and Holly Lindamood of Daisy Alliance partnered with the Union of Concerned Scientists to speak on Redefining Security to examine the adverse consequences of highly exclusive decision-making on nuclear weapons and to explore solutions to change this status quo.
